How It Works: The Separation Process
  1. Influent Entry: Oily wastewater enters the separator, often first passing through a flow control chamber to stabilize the incoming stream.
  2. Gravity Separation (Free Oil Removal): In the primary chamber, the flow velocity is reduced. Due to the difference in specific gravity, free-floating oil quickly rises to the surface, and settleable solids sink to the bottom.
  3. Coalescence (Emulsified Oil Removal): The water then flows through our advanced coalescing packs. Here, tiny, dispersed oil droplets (emulsified oil) collide with the media and merge into larger droplets.
  4. Final Separation: These now-larger oil droplets rise rapidly to the surface due to their increased buoyancy. The clarified water passes under an outlet baffle.
  5. Effluent Discharge: The treated water, now containing minimal hydrocarbons, exits the separator for direct discharge, further polishing, or reuse.
  6. Sludge & Oil Recovery: Accumulated oil is automatically or manually skimmed from the surface for disposal or recycling. Settled solids are purged from the sludge hopper.
